Hello summertime! Sun-kissed skin, sipping lemonade, and feeling fabulous are just a few items on my summer to-do list. I adore summertime, and the brightly colored fashion that follows it! Even though the scorching Georgia sun is making me a tad sluggish, I still love be out and about (especially poolside).
Cute shorts and warm days are a match made in Heaven! The key to this season’s style: the brighter your shorts, the more summery your outfit looks. With hot temperatures here to stay for the next couple of months, sometimes you just want to wear less clothing (in a classy way, of course). My ultimate go-to pair of shorts is my sassy new hot pink pair. This versatile pair of shorts can go with practically any summer outfit, be it a hot summer day or a cool summer night.
In today’s post, I was going for more of a chic, minimalist look perfect for a summer outing; think BBQ or pool party perhaps. These pretty little scalloped shorts are from Century 21. Not only did the hot pink attract me, but the scalloped detail along the bottom had me hooked! The detailing adds a pop of girly charm to theses beauties, without being over-the-top.
As for my top, I have been obsessed with this sleeveless white shirt lately. Wearing white makes any outfit look clean, feminine, and classy. It also lets the bright shorts remain the center of attention. For a comfy feel, I put my usual wedges aside, and wore these adorable summer espadrilles (summer’s favorite flats) instead. I love adding a pair of simple white-lined sunnies to accessorize; a sunny afternoon outfit just wouldn’t be complete without them.
Since I was running to enjoying a yummy summer treat, I decided not to wear a purse (that’s a first!). Instead, I grabbed my neutral-toned wallet, perfect for the girl-on-the-go. As we all know, a hot summer day calls for a deliciously cool treat… Hello sprinkle-covered ice cream! I’m not going to lie, I wish my weekend didn’t end so soon. On a good note, I can’t wait for this coming weekend though. This girl will have yet another poolside sesh to relax, tan (with tons of sunscreen of course), and enjoy the summer warmth.
