Pizza is a cheat day fave for the fitness-inclined. Why not make the most of your cheat day with an artisan pizza from Rize? Throw in a hearty and delicious salad, and you’ve got yourself a guilt-free cheat meal. Set to open today, the new Rize Artisan Pizza Sandy Springs location will offer up more of the same great fare that made the Poncey-Highland spot such a hit.
After trying out some of their delicious menu options, I can safely say that you’d be missing out big time if you didn’t stop by! For my pizza selection, I went with both the Asian BBQ Chicken and the Garden. The Asian BBQ Chicken had a powerful flavor; not so much spicy, but it certainly had a nice kick. It’s a mix you don’t often see, Asian cuisine and pizza, but it will change your life! For the more vegetarian-minded among you, the Garden ditches the meat without sacrificing the flavor. A robust array of cheeses, tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, and more overwhelm your tastebuds with a fresh and natural sensation.
As the name suggests, Rize knows how to whip up amazing salads as well. I chose the Asian Noodle Salad, loaded with shrimp, soba noodles, chow mein, kale, peas, radish, and a tasty sesame lime vinaigrette dressing. Again, the Asian-inspired flavors were the star of the show, helping set Rize apart from the other Atlanta-area pizza shops.
You may come for the pizza and salads, but start your meal right with one of the delectable appetizers. They all looked wonderful, but I was intrigued by the Stuffed Peppadaw Peppers. With fennel sausage, walnuts, parsley, and whipped feta (the Persian in me couldn’t resist), it was a starter exploding with spicy flavor. Be prepared for a rather unexpected kick, but believe me when I say its worth it!
Every meal needs a good drink pairing. Their red and white sangrias were among the best I’ve ever tasted. I’ve had similar drinks in the past that were bitter and tasteless; Rize changed my world by offering drinks loaded with fresh fruit and overflowing with sweet flavor.
Altogether, Rize was a new way to experience tried-and-true favorites. Whether you’re a pizza-fan or an Atlanta foodie, you’d be remiss to not stop by Rise Artisan Pizza and Salad for their opening day in Sandy Springs.
